Ukraine Outreach
To My Dear Montessori Friends and Colleagues
I am writing this email to Montessori colleagues and friends with whom I have worked during my career to ask for financial assistance to our Ukrainian Montessori community. Some of you may know that I have worked in Ukraine as a volunteer on a team from Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE) establishing Montessori education there since 1994 and continued to do so until two days before the Russians bombed their country on Feb 25. As you know from the news, life has been horrible for everyone including the entire Montessori community in Ukraine.
Last week I got a communication from Tetiana Mykhalchuk, one of the team leaders in the MACTE accreditation process, asking if I could raise money to help the Ukrainian Montessori Center provide financial support to the children and teachers who have remained in Ukraine. They are in Montessori schools that are struggling to stay open. I thought the best way to do that was to set up a GoFundMe page, which I published Sunday evening.
I am writing to you to ask for a donation and for your help in sending this link https://gofund.me/ea809c30 to any and all Montessori teachers, heads of schools, teacher-training directors and instructors, and Montessori organizations in your area that you know to ask for their support. If each person donates a small amount, it will make a huge difference. I also would appreciate it if you would ask them to pass the link on to people they know too. That way the word will spread and we will be able to accomplish our goal.
Thank you in advance for your generosity in helping our Montessori colleagues in Ukraine.
Warmest Regards,
Ginny
